This is to accommodate carpeting the enclosure later should we wish to.
Now the back is on and all the accessible seams have been sealed using a spray tar sealer.
Notice the centre brace.
Here the box is drying in the sun with charcoal speckle paint applied.

A shot of the inards. All 12 awg speaker wiring and you can see the terminal cup was screwed in and then completely sealed with a half-gallon of silicone.
And the finished product. I shined up the subs and bolted them in.
The fit is just right.
