Interior Neons

We wanted to accent the interior of the RazorGTP so we decided to go with five red 10" Liteglow Neons from Hamilton Audio.
The drivers and passenger side footwells will accent the front of the RazorGTP. Underneath the drivers and passengers seats will be the home of two more neons that will accent the back along with one more neon in the rear center console to illuminate the Visonik amp.

The passenger panel was another challenge altogether. With computers, air conditioning units and other obstacles in the way, we was forced to mount the tube to the car and simple cut out a "window" in the panel. This is what
we ended up with.
<-
Here it is from the outside. This is so far underneath the dash that you'd have to
get on your hands and knees to see it.
So we were not worried about the straps being visible.

Once the opening was cut in the underdash panel, we tied the neon tube to it from the inside. Nothing magical, but it holds tight and works great.
Here's how the passenger tube is laid in. On the left its tiewrapped to an existing wire harness.
We made a bracket with backstrap that was tiewrapped on the right side.
Note the aluminum reflector on both tubes so we don't waste any power illuminating the inside of the dash.
->

So its time to turn our attention inside with neon. Liteglow 10" red tubes were just the right fit under the dash.
The under dash plate had just enough room. If there was 1/16" less in any direction, it would NOT have happened.
Here's the passenger side. Of course digital doesn't do it justice in medium shop lighting. But you get the idea.
->
The driver's side turned out well and continues with the silver and red theme of the car.
Soon to come are 3 more tubes for the rear seats and trunk!
<-

In the rear, we were hard-pressed for a good location for the 10" Liteglow tubes.
Turns out the perfect spot was actually almost underneath the seat bottom. Here's the rear seat removed.
<-
Both of the tubes are now installed and turned on for testing. A great safe place for the tubes and they illuminate the floorboard nicely.
You can see the aluminum reflectors we made to direct the light where we wanted it.
->

With the subwoofer enclosure removed, we were able to mount the third 10" Liteglow tube.
<-

Now you see why we put it where we did. The tube lights up the inside area quite nicely, shining off the metallic GTP logo on the back of the enclosure.
->
The finished product. As you can tell, digital pics don't do it justice.
